Ali Banan was born in Shiraz, Iran in1976 but spent his early years in the USA and Spain, moving back to Iran with his family when he was 7. Banan studied architecture and graphic design following which he established his own graphic design studio and taught graphic design in local art institutes in Iran. He has been working in design and photography for over 20 years.
Banan settled in Melbourne in 2019 re-establishing his career as a visual communication and graphic design specialist.
Throughout his life, Banan has been fascinated by graphic imagery and design; how the world may be viewed and presented differently through the eyes of others. In his artwork and photographs, Banan is keen to present the disparities and similarities in culture across different countries, and capture people's lives and emotional states.
Banan has exhibited in both group and solo photographic exhibitions, commercially and for charity, and is keen to continue to expand his creative photographic practice and exhibition profile.
